CUHK, Department of Psychiatry · 2025 – present · Cycle stages: sense → model → validate
We build and deploy AI agents that deliver evidence-based sleep therapies — motivational interviewing, imagery rehearsal therapy (IRT), and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) — spanning agent architecture, full-stack development, and cloud deployment.
- Wearables. Integrate Actigraph, Huawei, and Samsung wearable data, processing accelerometer and PPG signals for sleep–wake detection and sleep-stage classification.
- Adaptive coaching. A wearable-enabled adaptive AI motivational interviewing chatbot for adolescent sleep and physical activity (Knowledge Transfer Impact Project Fund, IPF26GWP21; PI: Dr. Rachel Ngan Yin Chan).
- Clinical validation. A randomized controlled trial of the motivational interviewing chatbot.
- Adherence and remission. Machine learning models that predict adherence and remission in self-help digital CBT-I.
